For the last few years, we’ve popped down to Cardiff Bay to experience the annual Cardiff Food & Drink Festival, which lasts (this year) from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th July. We were umming and aaahing whether to go this year, but when I found out that my favourite street food crew were there, it was a decision maker.
Thousands of people have been enjoying the international food and drink festival in Cardiff bay. Now in its 16th year, the festival, which runs until Sunday, features more than 100 food and drinks stalls, as well as 30 stalls selling craft items. The three day event also includes a programme of live music from bands such as Fiesta Resistance, Tantz and Rob Heron and the Teapad Orchestra.
When it comes to eating in Wales, we’ve never had it so good. From pop-up food events to Michelin stars, there has never been so much good food to celebrate- especially in Food Week. Here are 100 of the best. There are probably plenty more we could have mentioned – but we had to stop somewhere.
We have snack stalls including our old favourites Cowleys Fine Foods who were sorely missed at last years GWBCF by many of the staff offering their usual fare of jerkies, fruit leathers and other goodies as well as Purely Pickled Eggs offering their delectable range of pickled eggs with flavours such as spicy cider and chilli.
We popped along to the Meat and Greek pop-up restaurant in the Corys building on the corner of Bute Street last night. It was super special for a couple of reasons…. The building is grade II listed, and was built in 1889 for the Corys Brothers & Co.
